4. May 9 vs Toronto FC

Toronto FC is one of the few teams Atlanta have failed to beat through two full seasons. After the first three meetings ended in 2-2 draws, Toronto demolished Atlanta on Decision Day last season to the tune of a 4-1 beatdown. This game might represent Atlanta’s best chance at earning that first victory over the Reds.

Unfortunately for the Five Stripes, this midweek match falls just three days after a trip out to Kansas City. Both Sporting KC and Toronto are teams stacked with talent, meaning this particular week will pose a strong challenge for Atlanta United. It might take some strong squad rotation from new coach Frank de Boer to secure a win over Toronto.

The most tantalizing aspect of this match is the rivalry Atlanta and Toronto have formed. Although Toronto have won only a single game and Atlanta have failed to win one so far, these teams always bring their A-game to these matches. Toronto players even went on record saying they don’t like Atlanta United, and with most of their matches ending neck and neck, the rivalry should continue this season.
