1. The USMNT wins the 2019 Gold Cup

Losing the world cup spot to Panama at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago, two soccer minnows, made the USMNT’s epic failure last cycle sting all the more.

The 2019 Gold Cup will give the squad the chance to re-establish their dominance and prominence in CONCACAF. The younger players should have a burning desire to announce themselves formally to the rest of the region and gain valuable experience in tournament play. The tournament also gives Gregg Berhalter the chance to establish some chemistry between players and style on the pitch.

Ultimately, the Gold Cup gives the fanbase an exciting reference point to look at where the team will be going in the coming cycle. It also gives the players and coaching staff an extended period together which should lay the groundwork for what this group could look like in the future.
