4. Dario Benedetto (Boca Juniors)

Back in October, Argentine media outlet Marca reported that the LA Galaxy had interest in signing Boca Juniors striker Darío Benedetto for $12 million. Although there hasn’t been much news surrounding the transfer, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if Benedetto plays in the U.S. next season.

The 28-year-old striker has found success in Argentina and Mexico. He scored 38 goals in 92 appearances for Tijuana and Ameríca before making a move to Boca Juniors in 2016. In three seasons for the Argentine club, Benedetto has scored 34 goals.

After rupturing his ACL in a match against Racing Club in late 2017, Benedetto made his return to Boca Juniors a few months ago. While he has scored four goals in his last four appearances, the Argentine striker has been competing for minutes with his club.

At the moment, it is uncertain if forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa will return to play another season in the MLS. Considering Benedetto’s situation with Boca, it would make sense if either the LA Galaxy or NYCFC made a move for the Argentine striker.
