1. Sporting KC worthy winners

Down 10 men and the Western Conference title on the line, Sporting Kansas City did the unthinkable by pulling a win out of an unfortunate scenario. Their display on Sunday showed the resolve they have had all season long, and, as such, they are more than worthy of taking the Western title.

Throughout the year, KC have probably been the most complete team. FC Dallas always had trouble scoring goals and were far outperforming their performances, eventually faltering down the stretch as many had predicted.

The Seattle Sounders slept for half the year, before then turning into the hottest team in MLS, but with too much ground to make up. Similarly, LAFC and the Portland Timbers were too inconsistent to ever be considered true title contenders in the West.

Sporting KC were the most complete and accomplished team throughout the season. They deserve the West. They may also be the Western favorite for the 2018 MLS Cup.
