1. Brad Guzan
Congrats to Brad Guzan for his call-up to the U.S. Men’s national team. He played with the team on Tuesday night to a 1-1 draw against Peru. Guzan recorded two saves and the goal conceded by the US was not his fault.
Just like Bello and other Atlanta players returning from international duty, it will be interesting to see how these players fare and it will be worth paying extra attention to. Fortunately for Guzan, he only played in one match and did not have to travel outside of the United States, or even out of the Eastern time zone.
Guzan is a veteran player, so returning from international duty should be a breeze. The extra training and travel should not have a huge effect on his performance this Sunday, but it will be interesting to see how he performs nonetheless.
I expect Guzan to have a stellar performance. Against Chicago earlier this season, Guzan allowed one goal and notched two saves. His conceded goal was a rocket from Chicago and was nearly unstoppable, meaning Guzan had an overall solid performance. There should be more of the same this weekend.
