1. The youth movement is something to be optimistic about

This game saw a very young squad lined up. Almost every individual showed flashes of promise during certain points in the game. Julian Green taking on defenders, Tim Weah making clinical passes, Zack Steffen coming up with some big saves.

With Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie all out, the rest of the young players showed that they can step up as well. The promise that these players are showing, and the addition of a new coach, which is supposed to be announced by early next month, is something fans should be very excited about.

The USMNT will face their next test against a strong Peru side on Tuesday, October 16th in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium. It will be interesting to see what takeaways the team takes from their match against Colombia.

Peru is able to provide a lot of similar pace and transition play that Colombia could so it will be important that the issues from this game are addressed over the coming days.
