2. Taider leads the way

Throughout the match, Saphir Taider was visibly the emotional leader for the Impact.

His spot kick conversion was followed by a kick of the ball into the stands and he would go on to contribute to both of the Impact’s remaining goals. It was Taider who broke through the Crew midfield to supply Alejandro Silva, whose brilliant turn, dribble and shot arrowed into the bottom corner.

And then Taider led the game-ending counter-attack, driving out from Montreal territory, taking his time to survey the options, before feeding Igancio Piatti down the left flank, who did not fail as he drove into the penalty area and finished nicely.

They needed a big performance from someone on the pitch on Saturday and Taider answered the call. With Taider at the heart of the midfield, this team is dangerous.
