1. Plenty of time for D.C. to earn a spot in the postseason

While the picture is looking increasingly bleak for the Impact, conversely, their direct opponents in fighting for that playoff place are now flying. And they have plenty of time to ensure that they complete an astonishing late-season surge.

Five matches remain for D.C. Their victory on Saturday signaled that they are in control of their own destiny moving forward. With an available 15 points coming in the upcoming weeks, it is hard to see them faltering and missing the postseason.

They have been at the top of their game since mid-summer and show no signs of suffering a major dip in form in the final month of the regular season.
