Another assist for Ignacio Piatti raised his season total to 13, which puts him two behind current league leader Borek Dockal.

And this was one his best assists of the season. As a lofted pass was clipped into his path, Piatti had the awareness to flick the ball off his heel, perfectly into the path of Michael Azira, who duly finished, thanks to a wicked deflection that gave Sean Johnson no chance to make a save.
The quality, as has been the case for most of the season with this Montreal attack, came from Piatti. This was yet another moment of rare and genuine skill that few other players in the Impact squad can match.
With four assists in his last two matches, the Argentine midfielder is making a late push to contend for the league lead and may very well take over at the top if he can continue to dish out assists. If he can achieve this, it will be a well-deserved accomplishment for one of the most creative and dangerous attackers in MLS.
