1. Microcosm of respective campaigns

This display by both clubs summed up their collective seasons to date. These two teams are perhaps the most underperforming teams in MLS. That is especially true considering the caliber of squads they field each week and amount of on-paper talent that both coaches have to work with.

We saw a struggling Galaxy side that has not figured out its defensive woes and a Toronto team that never got it clicking offensively in time to make a late run.

There was also a brilliant moment from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who spun in the air to flick a deep cross into the bottom corner for his 500th career goal, but that was still not enough to save the Galaxy, as has been the case many times already this season.

Both the Galaxy and Toronto will be happy to see the back of this season. It has not been a prosperous time for either club. Sometimes, it just doesn’t go your way.
