1. Brad Guzan
Just last year against Colorado, Alec Kann had to make a last-second, game-securing save to keep the Rapids from scoring. Will Brad Guzan have to do the same?
Atlanta won that match 1-0 thanks to a Josef Martinez goal (shocker) and the aforementioned Kann save. Colorado is one of the worst teams in the league, but they are not mathematically eliminated from the playoff picture just yet. The Rapids will fight every second on Saturday and look to play spoilers in Atlanta’s quest for their first piece of silverware.
Guzan is going to be essential in Atlanta’s attempt at securing another three points. For most of Colorado’s opposition, there is a struggle in acclimating to the extreme change in altitude. Guzan has experience playing in Colorado, having recently trained with the US Men’s National Team there in preparation for a World Cup qualifying match against Mexico. His experience will be a key component in the match on Saturday.
Guzan’s experience is invaluable to this Atlanta side. It could well be the case again here.
