1. RSL move into September on a high note

Fourth place will be where Real Salt Lake stands heading into September. The Western Conference club is only five points out of first place but are also only six points clear of eighth place Seattle. It is a congested race.

Saturday night’s win came at a key time when the club needed three points to help provide a cushion entering the all-important final stretch of the campaign. They now have as good a chance as any as securing a playoff berth.

Only seven matches remain in the regular season for RSL and four of the seven are against clubs that are currently in the top six in the West. It’s all on the table for them and this stretch of matches will give a clear answer if they are deserving of reaching the postseason.
