Freidel’s team has a couple of games in hand to leap over Montreal but, on current form, inspire little confidence. The Revs have won two games since June 1, apparently the epitome of a team in the midst of suffering a summer swoon that sinks a season.. 8-12-4
Three points from four games has kept Montreal above the playoff line, but just barely. And teams behind Montreal have games in hand as well. Remi Garde needs to find a lineup that helps Ignacio Piatti more in the final third. Without more goal production, a playoff appearance would be a place holder for a participation trophy.. 9-13-3. 374. A good win against the Revolution keeps Philadelphia well and truly in the hunt for a playoff berth in the East. They now sit fifth, a point clear of the Revolution, who are in seventh, with the two separated by Montreal. It is incredibly tight for the latter playoff positions in the East, but the Union have given themselves a shot.. 9-11-3. Previous: 16th. Philadelphia Union. 13. team
Previous: 7th. Real Salt Lake. 9. team. 322. Real Salt Lake may slide into the playoffs based on just being a touch above average. With only one win in five games, the trip to Houston this week looms large. Two reeling teams both needing nothing short of a win to feel good about any late-season playoff hopes. If Petke’s defensive approach continues a few more weeks, the RSL season will not.. 10-9-5
