Leandro Gonalez-Pirez

There is no mention of Leandro Gonzalez-Pirez going anywhere and I do think moving LGP out of Atlanta is extremely unlikely. However, an MLS team could try to make a move on him, or maybe a Liga MX team.

Gonzalez-Pirez is a very important piece for Atlanta and their defense, which is why I don’t think the club will move him. Atlanta might receive a hefty offer from another MLS team or a team outside of the league, but unless the price is right, they will do what they have to in order to keep him.

The only other way I can see LGP leaving is if he asks for a different contract with the club. His current contract is unclear, although he is certainly not a DP. He is currently the sixth highest paid player on the team, according to the salary figures released by the MLS Players Union. Gonzalez-Pirez is most likely satisfied with his current salary, although there is always the possibility of negotiations going sour with the front office, no matter how unlikely.

Prediction: Gonzalez-Pirez will stay with Atlanta, but will be pursued by other MLS teams and at least a team or two from South America.
