2. Bastian does what Bastian does best

Coming on at halftime as a substitute, Bastian Schweinsteiger reminded us all that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. His impact on the game was immediate, as the Fire looked like a different team with him on the field.

The midfield was able to control the ball, while the forwards were actually fed when they were able to find space. Bastian tried his best to single-handedly carry the Fire on his back, scoring a scorcher of a goal from distance.

His efforts, though, were for nought, but he was able to show that he’s still got it. The Fire will need him at his best once again on Wednesday if they want any chance to advance to the Open Cup final. Luckily for them, the German has plenty of big game experience.
