Tchani Can Only Play Against His Former Clubs

Tony Tchani has been the biggest flop for the Fire this season. Coming in during the offseason, some saw his pickup as a bit of good business early on. He started the opening games of the season, but was so bad that he almost immediately found himself back on the bench. Tchani was slow, weak, and constantly turning the ball over.

However, yesterday was one of two games were the midfielder had a strong showing, as he brought some much needed energy as a sub, and even scored a screamer of a goal. The other came against the Columbus Crew earlier in the year, the other team Tchani used to play for. These two performances got some fans thinking.

Maybe he just needs a bit of motivation, which he gets by playing against a former employer? This isn’t a new development, as Tchani scored once for Vancouver against Columbus. He might be useless most of the time, but it seems the Fire can at least call on Tchani for a couple of games a season.
