Defensive Midfielders

8.5. Signed shortly after the beginning of the season, Caicedo quickly became a mainstay in the Revs midfield plans. His tireless work-rate speaks for itself and the sparky youngster has melded well into the Revs system. He has yet to pick up his first goal, but has played in all spots of the New England midfield. While mostly playing centrally, this versatility gives the Revolution numerous options at midfield.. Center Midfielder. New England Revolution. LUIS CAICEDO

Caldwell has appeared in 13 games for New England this season, starting nine of them. He has been most valuable in helping to sure up the high-press system New England has adopted. While he isn’t the quickest, he is one of the best marking midfielders New England has and it shows with his efficiency in the high press. Offensively, his passing has been good as he continues to push further into the Revolution attack.. Defensive Midfield. New England Revolution. SCOTT CALDWELL. 8.0

New England Revolution. ZACHARY HERIVAUX. N/A. Herivaux has only seen 24 minutes of action in two appearances this year. During his brief outings, he has shown the potential for a budding defensive midfielder who may one day earn a starting job. 9.0. The Revs’ lone All-Star representative, Zahibo has been a welcome addition to the New England team. He is the type of player New England has been looking for to replace Jermaine Jones after three seasons, and he has done so admirably. Zahibo’s height and speed are his main values, making him a perfect defender in the high press. Offensively, his involvement has ranged from chance creation on the back end to goal-scoring up front.
