Four of USMNT’s best young talents have been named to the Bundesliga wonderkid watchlist. The honor is breaking new ground for US soccer on the international stage.

A list compiled by Bundesliga.com has named Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Jonathan Klinsmann, and Josh Sargent as four of the top young players in the Bundesliga to watch this season.

If you’ve been paying close attention to the aforementioned four players, then it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them listed as potential future stars. Two of the four have already established themselves in the Bundesliga and the other two should get their chance this season to show what they have.

Pulisic and McKennie are the two names that stick out on the list as they are two of the best young midfielders in the Bundesliga already, and will be growing further into their roles with their current clubs. For Klinsmann and Sargent, any playing time they receive will be their first chance to make an impression.

Klinsmann would perhaps be the more surprising of the four to make the list. Having seen very little playing time with the senior team, the Hertha Berlin goalkeeper hasn’t received an opportunity to break onto the scene in the big leagues. However, his potential has his club excited about the future and he will do his best to compete for a spot on the first team each week.

Sargent attracted lots of attention following his performance for the United States Men’s National Team in May and June, which included a goal in the USMNT’s win over Bolivia. The striker is still new to Werder Bremen but, if he can live up to his bidding, he should be featured in the senior team in no time.

When looking at the other players named to the watch list, this should be looked at has a great sign for American soccer. Players such as Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Sule, and Leon Bailey were also named to the XI and are internationally renowned footballers following this season.

With four players named to this team, the USMNT is continuing to show that the future is bright. This is, of course, a preseason team that was compiled and can’t be taken as a sure bet that each one of these players will overwhelmingly succeed.
