While half of the supporters fear there is no replacement for Diaz, the other half are celebrating the fact that homegrown players are getting significant time. Pareja may have learned his lesson last season. This season he is focusing on squad rotation, team chemistry and developing depth. 375. On their current form not only will the Timbers win the double, but Gio Savarese will be a Rose City deity praised for the metaphorical razing of Century Link field. Portland won in Seattle without playing Adi, Blanco or Ridgewell.  Diego Valeri served up all three assists playing as the Timber’s metronome maestro. His highlights should be soundtracked by an orchestra instead of electronic choppiness. Armenteros is gaining traction in the lineup. If he and Adi can play together, the Timbers will finish better than their current position, fourth place in the West. If the defense lets in multiple goals to last-place teams, however, fourth seems about right. Grinding out a win against the defending champs in their stadium is always to be celebrated.  The Red Bulls have won three on the trot and fans will spend the week readying themselves for the Hudson River derby. Versus Toronto, the Red Bulls played a second-choice team that played a B+ game and still won. Against NYCFC, the stakes will be higher.. 9-4-2. Previous: 2nd. New York Red Bulls. 2
