LAFC: 3 things we learned from tough draw with DC United

2. Rossi can still score

It has been awhile since Rossi has last scored for LAFC. His impressive start to 2018 with four goals in his first five appearances looked to indicate a big year ahead for the Uruguayan. However, after failing to score in six consecutive appearances the early flame he lit was dimmed.

Rossi’s goal on Saturday will do his confidence well and give LAFC some hope with the loss of Vela looming due to World Cup duty.

1. A match they should have won

Things were going in a positive direction for LAFC up until the red card. An early goal from Rossi looked to be the start of a victorious night at Bank of California Stadium. But it was not to be, LAFC will have to be disappointed to not take advantage of the fixture against one of the MLS’ struggling clubs.

On the bright side, they remain undefeated at home and will hold onto second place in the Western Conference standings. Only five points separate second and ninth place in the west, so the stellar home form LAFC have shown will need to continue if they hope to begin to gap the rest of the field.
