2. First goal has been crucial for Fire

When the Chicago Fire score first they have gone on to win every match. With a 4-0 record when breaking the deadlock first, it appears this is a strong point in their game, at the moment. However, this isn’t something they should rely on having only won four matches. Coming back and being able to win matches will have to continue to be a point of emphasis early on for this club.

1. McLain comes up big

Talk about an impressive debut for McClain, the goalkeeper recorded five saves on 21 shots Orlando produced. Paunović made a great decision in giving McLain a chance to show what he’s got. The 29-year-old showed great composure and direction to his teammates throughout the match. Perhaps the Fire have found their outright starting goalkeeper for the time being.

Don’t be surprised if McLain gets the start against the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday in the mid-week fixture.
