The Columbus Crew extended their unbeaten streak to four matches as they defeated the Philadelphia Union 1-0. Here are 3 things we learned.

For the second consecutive home match, the Columbus Crew were able to come away with all three points as Gyasi Zardes provided the match-winner.

Zardes’ goal came in the 53rd minute as he managed to get back onsides and put home his sixth goal of the season.

Zack Steffen recorded the clean sheet in net with three saves. His shutout total this season has increased to four, which is only five shy of what he posted at the end of 2017 in the regular season.

Here are three things we learned from the victory.

3. Picking up points as they come

After finding themselves on a three-match losing streak, the Columbus Crew have bounced back taking eight points from their last four matches. As the Crew now move into fourth place in the Eastern Conference, they will have to continue to get results as they have played the most matches of any club with 11. A few of the clubs behind them have played eight or nine matches which could allow them to make up points quickly.

No. 2 and 1 next.
