368. Tim Howard played perhaps his most outstanding game since Belgium in 2014, and again walks away losing by a single goal and a great late opportunity missed. Dominique Badji missed a golden chance to steal an away point by fluffing his lines. It took a couple desperate clearances  and sturdy woodwork to keep the scoreline as respectable as it is, but the Rapids team was outplayed in every area of the field. 12. team. 372. Shipping out Lee Nguyen might have solved some headaches and locker room issues for Brad Friedel, but it severely depleted any hopes of attacking depth of note. The concerns were doubled when Juan Agedelo went down midway through the first half. The Revs got 11 shots on target, but did not find the net or hold possession until Montreal were up 4-0 and easing off the intensity. . The Revs defense was carved up by Montreal and Piatti.. 4-3-2. Fuenmayor played his best game this season, but centerback is probably the biggest position of need this summer if Houston wishes to contend.  Ceran had several sloppy touches and poor turnovers that killed Dynamo possession. Elis and Quioto are quite a dynamic tandem when both are on their A games, which is about once a month. With more consistent quality displays and a couple signings, the Dynamo will be a tough out. Memo might be the best last 30 sub in the league if he accepts the role.. 3-3-2

It took an extra month for new manager Gio Savarese to implement his style but the Portland Timbers are now well out of the MLS Western Conference basement. This uptick in form and points taken from games has coincided with longtime Timber captain Ridgewell’s return from exile in Savarese’s doghouse.. 3-3-2

FC Dallas. 9. team. 370. Getting a point from LAFC at their new digs was always going to be difficult if LAFC’s road form translated, and FC Dallas got the result. Mosquera is showing more understanding and cohesion in the attack, while Urruti continues to show a desire to track back and win the ball. It was an encouraging effort by FC Dallas, and a deserved point in a season heavy with ties. Another positive take away is Kellyn Acosta looks ready to contribute again.. 5-2-1. Previous: 12th
