LA Galaxy striker Ola Kamara recorded a hat trick for Norway. With Zlatan now introduced, what does this mean going forward, if anything?

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic was being introduced the the LA Galaxy, Ola Kamara was scoring goals for Norway. The striker had one of his best performances to date for his country. Entering Friday’s match, Kamara had previously only scored one goal for Norway.

Here’s a look back at all the goals from his hat-trick performance.

His first goal was nothing but a routine finish as he ran into position right in front of goal unmarked.

More mistakes from Australia led to Ola Kamara’s second goal of the match. Once again, Kamara was in on goal with little trouble and he finished brilliantly to score Norway’s third goal of the match.

Ola Kamara’s third goal was his best of the night. Following a pass from Martin Ødegaard, he curled a shot into the back of the net to make it an emphatic 4-1 win.

Having already scored one goal for the LA Galaxy this season, Kamara is certainly one of the strikers to watch this season in Major League Soccer. The offseason trade with the Columbus Crew sent the 28-year-old to a Galaxy side that is in need of goal production after a less than stellar campaign in 2017.

Kamara has been a bit of a late bloomer in his career. At 28, the striker is arguably playing some of his best football since last season. If his form continues he should be a mainstay on the national squad as well as the Galaxy starting XI.

What happens with Kamara?

With the arrival of Ibrahimovic, there is already talk of what will become of the Galaxy’s starting XI moving forward. Ibrahimovic is, of course, going to be an expected starter as long as he can stay healthy. So, that leaves either Kamara or Giovani Dos Santos on the bench.

As of right now, Dos Santos seems like the likely choice to be on the bench. Injuries have already hampered Dos Santos involvement in the beginning of the 2018 season and to make matters worse he was recently voted as the MLS’ most overrated player.

Dos Santos is a quality player in his own right, but for now, Kamara has to be the best option to help lead the attack with Ibrahimovic. The two could be in for lots of goals if they can link up enough up top.

Things are looking up for the Galaxy this season and Kamara’s performance on Friday for Norway is just one of the reasons to be excited for the club in 2018.
