Transfers Out

  • Brad Evans (Sporting KC)
  • Joevin Jones (Darmstadt 98 – 2. Bundesliga)
  • Calum Mallace (LAFC)
  • Tyler Miller (LAFC)
  • Aaron Kovar (LAFC – Loan)
  • Oneil Fisher (DC United)

Emotionally, Brad Evans is the biggest loss, after being such a large part of the club’s leadership. However, on the field, Joevin Jones departure, and loss of assists is the biggest hole for Seattle to fill. Luckily they knew months in advance and began to work Nouhou into the starting role. Otherwise, playing LAFC on opening day may offer the chance to see some familiar faces with three Sounders on the new club’s roster.

Transfers In

  • Waylon Francis (Columbus Crew)
  • Handwalla Bwana (HGP)
  • Magnus Wolff Eikrem (Malmo FF – Sweden)
  • Alex Roldan (SuperDraft)
  • Jordan McCrary (Toronto FC II)
  • Calle Brown (Houston Dynamo / Rio Grande Valley FC Toros)
  • Kim Kee-hee (Shanghai Shenua – China)

Depth. With the majority of a starting lineup that has reached to Cup finals in a row, the need for new first XI players is low. Seattle has proven the ability to sign quality depth players over the past few years that have ended up as starters – Gustav Svensson and Will Bruin. Waylon Francis and Eikrem should see early playing time, while Alex Roldan and Bwana will work into the rotation more regularly by the summer. The latest signing, Kim Kee-hee, will provide much-needed depth at CB and World-Cup level talent as he looks to make the South Korean team this summer.
