Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne, has admitted he could see his career ending in the United States.

According to his agent, Belgian midfielder and Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has expressed his interest in playing in America further in his career.

“I think Kevin will end his career in the USA rather than in Belgium.” said Patrik De Koster, the midfielder’s agent.

“He has already been to America many times on holiday, and he loves the country and its culture” he noted. “He said goodbye to his bachelor life in Las Vegas, and we have often spoken about him ending his career in the MLS.”

The 26 year-old joined the Cityzens in August of 2015 from German side Vfl Wolfsburg, where the midfielder shined. De Bruyne knocked in 20 goals and contributed 37 assists in his three seasons at Volkswagen Arena, making Chelsea regret selling him for just £18 million.

Since joining, De Bruyne has been a standout player for Manchester City. In his 127 appearances in blue, the Belgian has found the back of the net 34 times and assisted 55 others. His first taste of silverware for the giants in Manchester was the league cup in 2016, where City beat Liverpool on penalties following a 1-1 draw. It seems like he’ll lift an even bigger trophy soon as his side sit 16 points ahead at the top of the Premier League table.

This rumored move would of course, not happen in the near future. De Bruyne has committed his next five years to his current side, signing a contract extension in January.

Where would he end up?

New York City FC

Stating the obvious here, but NYCFC would be a probable destination for the Man City star due to the team’s relations. The two sides have a history of transactions between them, most recently with Jack Harrison making the move to England.

During the MLS expansion side’s first season, they received some young talent from their sister club to help bolster their squad. Center-back, Shay Facey and left-back, Angelino, joined the Pigeons on loan in 2015, helping improve the team’s poor defensive line.

LA Galaxy

As we all know, the 5 time MLS Cup champions have a long history of signing European stars and  Kevin De Bruyne would fit perfectly in that pattern. Their fans however, have been put off recently with their aging star approach. Sure they found success with David Beckham, but Steven Gerrard’s stint with the Western Conference side was quite underwhelming.

What make’s the Galaxy more attractive than other MLS clubs is their location. Theres a reason players like Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo to go big cities, you don’t see many high-profile players taking their talents to Salt Lake City or Kansas City.

MLS Miami

Going on with the last point, Miami is another big city that’ll attract significant names. Pairing with the team’s owner, the previously mentioned David Beckham, it would be a great location for European players that are unfamiliar with the league.

With the expansion side planning to take the field in 2020, it would fit well with the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne. If the Belgian fulfilled his contract and stayed with Manchester City until 2023, Miami could capture him in the middle of their third season in Major League Soccer. It’s rare that an expansion side has all three DP spots filled that early on in their life, leaving a perfect opportunity for the midfielder to join.
