Key Soccer Dates over the next 3+ months: MLS, NWSL, US and USSF Election

The next few months will see a flurry of action from the US Soccer Presidential elections to drafts to CCL matches and the start of the 2018 campaign.

Here is a rundown of all the key dates over the next three-plus months for MLS, NWSL and USL league play, national teams and the all-important election in February.

January

  • January 18th: NWSL Draft
  • January 19th: MLS Draft
  • January 19th: U-20 Women’s CONCACAF Championship: USA vs. Nicaragua
  • January 21st: U-20 Women’s CONCACAF Championship: USA vs. Jamaica
  • January 21st: USWNT vs. Denmark (7:30 pm ET – ESPN)
  • January 23rd: U-20 Women’s CONCACAF Championship: USA vs. Mexico
  • January 28th: USMNT vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina (9:30 pm ET – FS1)

February

  • February 10th: US Soccer Federation Presidential Election
  • February 20th – 22nd: CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16, first leg matches.
  • February 27th – March 1st: CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16, second leg matches.

March

  • March 1st: USWNT vs. Germany (7:00 pm ET – ESPN2)
  • March 3rd – 4th: MLS Opening Weekend (full match schedule here).
  • March 4th: USWNT vs. France (12:00 pm ET – ESPN2)
  • March 7th: USWNT vs. England (7:00 pm ET – ESPNews)
  • March 6th – 8th: CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals first leg matches.
  • March 13th -15th: CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals second leg matches.
  • March 16th – 18th: USL Opening Weekend (you can find a list of all of the home openers here).
  • March 24th – 25th: NWSL Opening Weekend

April

  • April: The format, list of participants, the timing of each round and the schedule for round one should be revealed sometime during the month
  • April 3rd – 5th: CONCACAF Champions League Semi-finals first leg matches
  • April 10th – 12th: CONCACAF Champions League Semi-finals second leg matches
  • April 17th – 19th: CONCACAF Champions League Final, leg one (exact date TBD)
  • April 24th – 26th: CONCACAF Champions League Final, leg two (exact date TBD)

No word yet on the start of the season for PDL and NPSL, although that is likely to be later in the year. We should hear more on the NASL lawsuit and sanctioning decision during the next few months, but an exact date is still up in the air.
