Richmond Kickers still have a shot to make the USL playoffs. I am not joking. With five matches to play the redskins—I’m talking peanuts here people—from Virginia’s state capital is just 8 points below the line. It was barely three weeks ago when the club’s chances to make the playoffs looked pretty slim. But they have now won—that’s right, I said, “won”—3 of their last 6 matches. Last week they took former conference leaders Charleston Battery down yet another notch, winning 3-1 at home. Over the month of August, Kickers reduced their goal differential to a nearly respectable -10. Don’t blink: the playoffs are just four weeks away.
