Toronto FC II (H) v Rochester Rhinos

Rochester, in fact, have won 4 of their last 6 matches against some pretty good competition. But that consistency has propelled them up the conference standings mainly because there has been so much inconsistency above them. Either way Rochester comes into the weekend just 6 points out of first place. With some help from Richmond and a win themselves this Saturday, Rhinos could be tied for the lead by Monday morning.

  • Last time out: Rhinos defeated Saint Louis FC, 2-1, at home last weekend. Toronto FC II drew at home against the same opponent at midweek.
  • Players to watch for: Toronto FC II is mired in last place trailing next-to-last Richmond by just 1 point. As noted, however, there is hope. TFC II are still only 11 points from qualifying for the playoffs. But there are just 6 matches to play. Toronto bring a -22 goal differential into this game. That’s a surprise because they have two very good keepers in Mark Pais and Angelo Cavalluzzo. Pais in particular has recent good memories of Rochester. If they are to make a run at a playoff spot, however, they’re going to need help up front as well.
