9- Charlotte Independence. Index rating: 14.530. Rank change: +8.

  • 6-4-4, 23/21, two shutouts, three come from behind wins, 13 road points, seven dropped home points.

Charlotte has had a great run since the last update, as evident by their jump up eight spots. The Independence have won their last two games with a 2-0 scoreline, their first shutouts of the season, earned a point on the road against FC Cincinnati, and came up just short against Louisville City FC.

8- San Francisco Deltas. Index rating: 18.415. Rank change: +8.

  • 8-5-3, 18/14, five shutouts, two come from behind wins, 18 road points, ten dropped home points.

The Deltas have had a great run of form in NASL play, as they currently sit in second place in the NASL Fall Season. Only league mates Miami FC and San Antonio FC of USL have earned more points on the road than the Deltas, and San Francisco has outscored their NASL competition 5-1 in their last three matches. Their 2-0 loss against the San Jose Earthquakes keeps them from jumping Orange County SC into the seventh place spot, which they will likely do soon anyway.

7- Orange County SC. Index rating: 19.213. Rank change: -1.

  • 6-1-5, 20/20, three shutouts, no come from behind wins, 13 road points, three dropped home points.

As noted in our last edition, scheduling favors Orange County SC in our formula because of their lack of home games (and games in general). They have only had 12 matches thus far, while everyone in front of them on this list has had at least 16, other than Real Monarchs who have played 14. Of those 12 matches for OCSC, only three have been played at home. They played only one match since our last update, where they took care of business against Sounders 2, winning 4-3 at home.

6- Sacramento Republic FC. Index rating: 22.125. Rank change: +3.

  • 10-3-6, 34/21, five shutouts, three come from behind wins, 11 road points, five dropped home points.

The Republic have been on fire since we last updated. After falling to Reno on the road, Sacramento has won their last four matches, including a 4-1 beat-down of Real Salt Lake in Open Cup play. In those four wins, SRFC has outscored their opponents 15-6, and will look to upset the LA Galaxy on Wednesday in Open Cup play after taking down Los Dos over the weekend.

5- Charleston Battery. Index rating: 30.669. Rank change: 0.

  • 11-4-3. 39/22, seven shutouts, one come from behind win, 17 road points, seven dropped home points.

Charleston sit in the same position as our previous update, not having done much to move up or down. They came up just short against Atlanta United in Open Cup play, losing 3-2. They rebound by earning a point on the road against FCC, and thrashing TFCII 6-1 at home. The Battery will likely be somewhere in the top five for the rest of the year.
