38. Portland Timbers II. Index rating: -31.322

  • Not much to argue here. With a current record of 1-1-10, the Timbers Reserves find themselves on the bottom of the pile.

37. Richmond Kickers. Index rating: -21.487

  • This may catch some people by surprise, as Richmond current sits just ahead of TFC II in the Eastern Conference standings. However, Richmond has dropped 16 points at home through all competitions (including their Open Cup loss to amateur side, Christos FC). Only Timbers II have dropped more points at home, which pulls down their rating with the adjusted rates.

36. FC Edmonton. Index rating: -17.638

35. Toronto FC II. Index rating. -14.868

  • While TFC II have only scored three total goals this year, they’ve earned five road points this year and shutout their opponents five times.

34. Seattle Sounders FC II. Index rating: -12.151

33. Indy Eleven. Index rating: -11.741

  • The NASL runners-up are the only team who have yet to win a match this year.

32. Bethlehem Steel FC. Index rating: -10.860

31. Puerto Rico FC. Index rating: -9.353

30. Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Index rating: -8.235

29. Phoenix Rising FC. Index rating: -7.527

  • Phoenix has either won or lost, sitting 5-0-5 over their 10 total matches. We’ll see what kind of stride they hit once Drogba takes the field, but they are also already out of Open Cup competition after falling to SF Deltas.

28. Red Bulls II. Index rating: -4.579

  • The reigning USL champions have struggled through 12 games compared to last year, dropping nine points at home. Many of their key pieces from last season moved to the first team.

27. Tulsa Roughnecks. Index rating: -3.702

26. Los Angeles Galaxy II. Index rating: -2.922

25. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Index rating: -0.646

  • Switchbacks score a lot, with only two teams having more than their 25 goals, but they also get scored on a lot, giving up more goals than anyone with 24.

24. Vancouver Whitecaps II. Index rating: 0.387

23. FC Cincinnati. Index rating: 1.663

22. Rio Grande Valley FC Toros. Index rating: 1.996

  • RGVFC have only allowed five goals this year. Everyone else except San Antonio FC has given up at least 10.

21. Orlando City B. Index rating: 2.471

20. Reno 1868 FC. Index rating: 3.491
