Marek Hamšík

Hamsik may be the most common name on this list, but if you don’t follow Serie A, odds are you have no idea who this guy is. Hamsik is the captain for Napoli and the starting center midfielder. He is 29 years old and transfermrkt.com puts his current market value at $45 million, obviously out of any MLS team’s budget (unless Man City wants to help NYCFC out a little bit). Without a doubt, Hamsik would take a DP spot for his services, as he has scored 14 goals and has 13 assists to his name across all competitions.

Hamsik is a very talented playmaker, creating chances for his teammates all over the pitch. He is also a strong free kick taker, making him that much more of a threat on the pitch. If Hamsik for some reason decided to come to the US and a team could afford to pay his wages, he would instantly make any team significantly better going forward.
