Here are ten very good soccer players that you have probably never heard of that would absolutely tear up the MLS if they came here.

Every MLS fan has the dream: ‘We would be so good if Cristiano Ronaldo joined our team’ or ‘Imagine if we have Messi leading our front line.’ For obvious reasons, both those players will not be coming to the MLS (not anytime soon, that is). As we have seen, there are many players who most MLS fans have never heard of yet come to the MLS and dominate. Take Nicolas Lodeiro and Deigo Valeri for example.

In celebration of those players that we have no hope in knowing, here are ten players you probably have never heard of but if they decided to join Major League Soccer, would just tear the league apart.

Chris Wood

Chris Wood is a New Zealand international who plays for Leeds United in the English Championship. Wood is an out and out striker, playing almost exclusively the number nine in a 4-2-3-1. Not only is he a natural goalscorer, Wood is a very talented finisher, capable of scoring with not only both his feet, but also with his head. He is currently the top of the Golden Boot race in the Championship with 27 goals and four assists.

If Wood comes to the MLS and gets anything close to the service that he is getting at Leeds right now, there would be no stopping him. Transfermarkt.com has the 25-year-old’s transfer value at around $6.7 million so even though Wood and Leeds would probably say no to a deal, it is fun to think about his joining teams such as Montreal or Atlanta with Josef Martinez out.
