MLS Fantasy week 10 brings the three words you have been missing for a while. DOUBLE GAME WEEK (DGW). But who should you pick for the DGWs?
Before we get into the upcoming action, a look at the standings for MLS Multiplex’s fantasy league after week nine play. We have shifts in the table as “Forever Orange” by Mike Van Den Bold takes the #1 spot, and Ross Jackson’s “Tea ‘n’ Busquets” has dropped down to 5th after week nine.

Week 9 Roundup:
Was it a crazy week 9 in MLS or what…. for MLS Fantasy there is never telling 100% what’s going to happen…
- Atlanta vs DC: Surely Atlanta would take the home field advantage they’ve built and take maximum points in the table and in Fantasy from the DC United game right? Wrong. My choice of Miguel Almiron as player to choose last week didn’t pay off as DC United shut him down to three points and a DCU 3-1 win. Keep an eye out for the Argentine playmaker that DC have. Luciano Acosta has slowly been heating up and gaining points every week.
- Seattle’s defensive injury woes continue but who would’ve thought? New England coming to Century Link in rainy ole’ Seattle, Washington sounds like a piece of cake. With the Revs being so inconsistent I had my money on Lodeiro, Dempsey, and Morris to take maximum fantasy points, but again wrong. NE went up 3-0 on Seattle with a brace from Agudelo and 15 points. Meanwhile, Seattle made an insane 2nd half comeback resulting in 14 points for Lodeiro and 12 for Jones who now is tied for most assists in MLS.
- LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union, MLS two worsts teams at the moment, squared off in week nine. Should have been a breakout game for either team with Alessandrini racking up his fantasy points or Alejandro Bedoya getting a few assists into CJ Sapong, but it wasn’t meant to be ending in a 0-0 result. If you invested in LA or Philly players this past week, sorry…
Week 10 Prediction XI:
MLS Week 10 Must Have Players:
1) Ike Opara
Sporting Kansas City’s defense hasn’t looked this good since their championship year with Besler and Collin in the center. It’s no surprise Besler is still starting, but it might be to see Opara in there. After several potentially career ending injuries Ike Opara has come out to be one of the best defenders in MLS Fantasy 2017. Totaling 58 points so far this season Opara has been a beast forcing many clean sheets for SKC and will be gaining max points from a DGW.
2) Sacha Kljestan
American players are the rave this week in my predictions as Sacha will have a great opportunity to bolster any fantasy teams attack with a DGW for the Red Bulls in week 10. Although NYRB face a stingy SKC defense in midweek action, there will be huge opportunity for points against rival Philadelphia on the weekend. Kljestan’s skill at #10 won’t disappoint.

3) Luciano Acosta
Little Argentinian playmaker, Luciano Acosta, has been putting up some big numbers. Last week alone in DC United’s take down of Atlanta he had 12 points. Things seem to be heating up for DCU and being home at RFK against a struggling Montreal will only make things better for Acosta and CO. Expect for the points to flow in once striker Patrick Mullins comes back into the mix, but for now Acosta can feed balls to Le Toux all day.
