MLS Player Power Rankings Week 8: Can anyone overtake Cubo?

4. Diego Valeri – Portland Timbers – Last Week: 2nd
Everyone who watches the MLS knows the type of player Diego Valeri is and what he has done for the Portland Timbers franchise. He’s one of the best playmakers in the MLS and has showed that over the years. Valeri sits tied for third with seven goals, but has also registered four assists already during the first seven weeks of play. Valeri will be out for their next game and the Timbers will have to find a way to win without him.
3. Miguel Almiron – Atlanta United FC – Last Week: 4th
Almiron has entered in the MLS running, his vision and passing ability are second to none. The best part about it all is that Almiron has been able to keep up his level of play all while without Josef Martinez. None more evident then his through balls in the last two games against Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake. Almiron will have to keep up that level of play when Atlanta takes on D.C. United this weekend.
