Another week of MLS actions is in the books, but would anyone be able to overtake Erick Torres atop the rankings?

It was a fantastic weekend in the MLS and we were treated to some great soccer games, and this matchday ahead is shaping up to be another eventful slate of games. In week eight saw Sebastian Giovinco score a wonder goal, the Portland Timbers win another game, and Erick Torres get on the scoresheet for a seventh game.

The real question was would there be anybody who could knock Erick Torres off the top spot?

10. Sebastian Giovinco – Toronto FC – Last Week: Not Ranked

Sebastian Giovinco started off the MLS season very slowly, but has started to pick right where he left off last year.  Giovinco scored two beautiful goals against the Chicago Fire to go along with the strike he scored the week before against the Columbus Crew.  If this is the sign of the real Giovinco then the MLS should be put on notice that the Atmoic Ant is back.

9. Anthony Jackson-Hammel – Montreal Impact – Last Week: Not Ranked

Three goals in three games for the Quebec City kid.  Hammel has scored all three goals in the last two matches for Montreal, including two in the last game on a night where Impact looked down and out trailing 3-0 to the Philadelphia Union.  Hammel is going to be a star in this league if he keeps it up.
