There were plenty of fantastic goals in week seven, including a few that are sure to be goal of the season candidates.

Week seven of MLS action provided us with plenty of drama and stunning goals. Take a look at the top goals from the weekend that was in Major League Soccer.

David Villa (New York City FC)

This spectacular goal is worth a couple looks (or 10) as Villa blasts this shot from over 50-yards out and into the back of the net. Go ahead and reserve a place for it in the goal of the year race.

Anthony Jackson-Hamel (Montreal Impact)

A clever finish from Jackson-Hamel proved to be the match-winner as the Impact went on to win 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Will Johnson (Orlando City)

It’s a spectacular finish from Johnson as he scores his first goal for Orlando City.

Romain Alessandrini (LA Galaxy)

Alessandrini is a man on form at the moment, the Frenchman has scored four goals in his last four matches for the Galaxy.

Cyle Larin (Orlando City)

All three goals from the Orlando City victory made into our top goals list this week, good choice to have the game on FOX this weekend. This volley from Larin was the late match-winner.

Bastian Schweinsteiger (Chicago Fire)

Schweinsteiger powers home this low driven shot to record his second goal of the season.

Brooks Lennon (Real Salt Lake)

The first MLS goal for Lennon will be one he’ll remember for the rest of his career as he nets the match-winner in style with this fantastic effort.

MLSM Goal of the Week

The goal of the week has to go to Villa, his goal comes from just past midfield and is perfectly placed.

Overall, there were plenty of nice goals this weekend. Week seven was one of the more entertaining weekends of action in the MLS this season and featured multiple dramatic finishes. There were two or three goals that should certainly be up for goal of the year at the end season.
