MLS soccer ramped back up after a week long layoff due to the International break.  With the rested legs some players stood out in this weeks MLS Player Power Rankings.

It was a great weekend for MLS soccer, as we had the MLS debut of Bastian Schweinsteiger, and what a start it was. The German midfielder would only need 17 minutes to score his first MLS goal in front of a raucous Chicago Fire crowd.

While Schweinsteiger was scoring, Minnesota United was winning, and winning big.  Minnesota would get their first MLS win of their short franchise history.

There are some new players on the MLS Player Power Rankings with the likes of Justin Meram and Christian Ramirez jumping into the top 10. We  also have a change at the top of the leaderboard, who leads the pack this week?

10. Justin Meram – Columbus Crew – Last Week – Not ranked

The Columbus Crew have been on fire this season and so has Justin Meram. He now has three goals in the last two games for the Crew and as long as he continues to score the Crew will continue to win. Look for Meram to get on the board when the Crew take on Bastian Schweinsteiger and the Chicago Fire in week six.

9. Romell Quioto – Houston Dynamo – Last Week –  9th

Quioto has formed a formidable duo with Erick Torres, but Quioto was unlucky to pick up an injury during international play. He will be out two to four weeks, but should come back and find that same chemistry with Torres once again! While Quioto is out Houston will play New England in week six.
