Clint Dempsey (ST): 9.5

Like Pulisic, he basically looked perfect out there. In his first game for the USA since the Copa America he produced a hat-trick on two solid finishes and a great free kick. The Dempsey-Pulisic combo might just carry the USA all the way through CONCACAF qualifiers and into the World Cup!

Jozy Altidore (ST): 7.5

Jozy made a number of key passes throughout the game, such as the Lletget goal, and kept his hustle up the entire game. Unfortunately, he had a few silly fouls and a couple blown chances, so his scores doesn’t rise any farther.

Alejandro Bedoya (In for Lletget at 20′): 6.5

Bedoya came in for Lletget once he got hurt and clocked a solid 70 minute shift. He hustled, tracked back, and was okay on the ball. Unfortunately, he didn’t did much to really make his presence felt throughout the game.

Graham Zusi (In for Cameron at 59′): N/A

By the time Zusi came into the game, the outcome was basically decided. Between that and the fact that Zusi didn’t really do much in his 30 minutes means that he doesn’t really get a rating.

Tim Ream (In for Brooks at 70′): N/A

Similar to Zusi, the game was all but wrapped up by the time he came into the game, and he didn’t really have to do that much in his time.

Bruce Arena: 9.5

Arena was faced with a number of tough decisions to make in his lineup. Many of the natural USMNT starters were injured or suspended, so he had to get a little creative and throw some fresh meat into the shark tank. In the end, he made all the right calls, and the team delivered for him.

The only thing keeping him from a 10 is that Gonzalez did not step up as much as we hoped he would, and we are left slightly questioning that choice when Besler and Zimmerman were both available on the bench as options to consider starting.
