Week 3 Round Up & Week 4 Tips:
Week 3 brought us some very exciting high scoring options including Portland’s win over Houston, Atlanta’s 4-0 trouncing of Chicago, and Seattle taking their first win of the season over RBNY. These entertaining matches saw some players rack up fantasy points and reward their lucky owners.
If you were like me, Josef Martinez, Diego Valeri, and Cubo Torres brought home the points for you. While Martinez stands atop the league goal scoring charts he won’t be able to help you at all this week. Only six MLS teams are in action due to a semi-international break for World Cup Qualifiers. Of course MLS has to make it difficult on us MLS Fantasy managers but MLS Multiplex has you covered to succeed.

Week 4 will see 2017’s best team, Portland Timbers, match up against Gregg Berhalter’s Columbus Crew in rematch of 2015 MLS Cup at MAPFRE Stadium. The remaining two matches will see New York Red Bulls host newly coachless Real Salt Lake and then struggling clubs Minnesota United FC vs New England Revolution.
So first things first, take advantage of MLS Fantasy unlimited transfers and load up on players from these six clubs. It is a sure bet to pick up Portland and RBNY players but someone like Christian Ramirez from MNUFC or rookie center back, Crognale, from Columbus aren’t a bad shout either.
This season, like most MLS seasons, it seems reasonable to often enough lean on players that are playing at home instead of away because it is evident how much more likely it is for a home team to win and therefore rack up more points for you.
Three Sure Fire Starters:
1) Diego Valeri
Considering there are only 6 teams playing in MLS this weekend and Portland are one of the teams playing this is a no brainer… Diego Valeri is captain material people! He has torn up MLS in only the first 3 games totaling up 39 points. ‘Nuff said from the Argentinian playmaker as he lets his playing do the talking.
Valeri is the man leading arguably the best front six in MLS which includes Chara, Guzman, Blanco, Valeri, Nagbe, and Adi. It sounds like he should be getting assists with those guys around him but he’s actually been the man with the goals having scored four already! Portland are only heating up and it would be silly to not jump on the Valeri hype train while you can.
2) Bradley Wright-Phillips
BWP has started off the season slower than usual with only one goal in three games but hey that’s not bad at all. BWP is the man who has scored 17 and 27 goals in the past two season respectively and nothing makes me think that is going to stop him.
Yes, RBNY 4-2-2-2 hasn’t exactly been working great and Sacha Kljestan will be away on national team duty but RBNY are playing at home against a struggling Real Salt Lake side. A side who just fired head coach Jeff Cassar and who will definitely be prone to the goal scoring threat Wright-Phillips poses. Expect Glad, Maund, and Horst or whoever plays center back to struggle with BWP and the service he will get from Royer, Davis, and Felipe.
3) Christian Ramirez
Many might not have enough faith in Minnesota United just yet but in a week with only six teams playing American striker Christian Ramirez is the man to count on. MUFC will be facing a very weak New England side who like Minnesota also have a weak defense.
Ramirez and his co-star were neglected from starting to start the season but it seems now like Coach Heath has figured out the key to success is to have both guys on the field starting. Ramirez has now scored twice for the Loons and will undoubtedly capitalize on the Revs poor form this weekend.
