CONCACAF releases schedule and groups for 2017 Gold Cup

The 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup schedule has been finalized as well as the three groups that will feature four countries each.
July 7th will mark the start of the CONCACAF Gold Cup as 12 countries will look to claim the regional title and a potential spot in the 2021 Confederations Cup. The 19-day tournament will be played in different venues throughout the United States, with the final being played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Defending champions of the competition, Mexico, will open their tournament against El Salvador on July 9th. They are paired in Group C with Curacao, Jamaica and El Salvador.

The United States Men’s National Team find themselves in Group B, as they are paired with Panama, Martinique and either Haiti or Nicaragua, who will face each other in a playoff to decide the final spot in the field.
Group A features both Costa Rica and Honduras, the two countries represented the region at the 2014 World Cup, Honduras recently claimed the Copa Centroamericana in January. Joining the two Central American countries in the group are French Guiana and Canada.
Major League Soccer will have a break scheduled for the competition, which will be from July 7th to July 17th.
