Allocation Rankings List: If you’re a player who wants to come back to the MLS then you have to go through this list. While you have to go through this list, there is certain criteria that makes you fall on this list. A US Mens National Team player, check. An elite youth U.S National player, check. Or have you played in the MLS, but were transferred for over $500,00 outside the MLS? Check. Here’s a list of the players available for 2017 courtesy of mlssoccer.com. Here are some of those players:
- Geoff Cameron – Stoke City
- Julian Green – VfB Stuttgart
- Obafemi Martins -Shanghai Greenland Shenhua
- Christian Pulisic – Borussia Dortmund
- Fabian Johnson – Borussia Monchengladbach
Allocation Ranking Order: Finish at the bottom of the standings and move to the top of the Allocation rankings. While on normal occasions that’s how it would work, but in an expansion season the expansion teams get first priority. But once a team uses their slot and selects a player they move to the bottom of the list. For example, the Chicago Fire selected Juninho this off-season after trading with Minnesota for the second spot.
