4. Atlanta United FC is poised to make an impact

One of the two new expansion clubs in 2017, fans were able to get their first glimpse of Atlanta United FC in the Carolina Challenge Cup. Atlanta made an impact quickly, and kept the momentum going throughout the tournament.

In their first round matchup against the veteran Columbus Crew SC, Atlanta scored within the first ten minutes; although they were unable to hold the lead and put the Crew away

Atlanta managed to land themselves in second place overall with a very impressive 4-2 win against the defending MLS Cup Champion Seattle Sounders FC, and by giving the Charleston Battery their only loss in the tournament.

Atlanta United FC made in impact in Charleston, South Carolina, and enter their first MLS Regular Season with that same goal in mind.
