Having a Designated player opening on your roster is like gold back in the golden age.  DP’s are an integral part of a team looking to contend and have success during the regular season and playoffs.  Look at the key teams with two to three DP’s on their roster like Toronto FC, NYCFC, and Seattle.

The LA Galaxy have lifted multiple MLS Cups using this strategy. All of those squads made the MLS playoffs last year and their designated players played a huge role in that success.

With the season just around the corner, and training camps already underway, teams will be looking to make signings fast.
