The undisputed champions of MLS attendance, and now reigning MLS Champions. Since joining the league in 2009, the Sounders have been a success, with a win rate of over 46%. All eight seasons, the club has reached the playoffs and never finished lower than 7th in the overall MLS table.
Seattle won their first Western Conference title in 2014, as well as the Supporters’ Shield, but fell in the playoff semi-finals. 2016 looked to be the first time the team would miss the playoffs, until a turnaround mid-season saw the club get above the playoff line and go on to the MLS Cup. A dramatic penalty shoot-out earned Seattle their first MLS Cup over Toronto.
With an average of over 40,000 fans at home matches and a history of winning, the Sounders look to remain in the top of the rankings for the foreseeable future.
