#8 – Sporting Kansas City

Matches Played: 708

Wins: 287

Percentage: 40.5%

The second club to eclipse the 40% win line. As a founding member of the MLS, Kansas City has only missed the playoffs six times. All of those came in two year runs that were all followed by winning their Conference finals in the playoffs.

Formerly the Wiz and the Wizards, Sporting have won their conference three times and the Supporters’ Shield once, in 2000. They have appeared in three MLS Cups, winning twice in 2000 and 2013, with the one loss coming in 2004 to DC United. Since rebranding as Sporting KC the club has made it into the playoffs six straight years, winning at least 13 matches during the regular season.
