#10 – New York Red Bulls

Matches Played: 709

Wins: 281

Percentage: 39.6%

One of the few clubs to have won nearly 40% or more of their MLS matches and not claimed a championship. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t been close. In 2008 the team lost in their only appearance at the final to the Columbus Crew.

However, they have finished the regular season as the top team in the Eastern Conference five times. Note; they even have the unique honor of winning the 2008 Western Conference playoffs, due to odd seeding used as the time – thus two Eastern Conference teams in the Cup. In fact the Red Bulls have made the playoffs 17 of the league’s 21 seasons. There will be teams with higher win percentages without a title, but no club has been so consistently strong for as long as NYRB has without a title.
