Opponent- D.C United

For most fans and analysts, the first game of the season gives you a good idea of any team, and for the right reasons. That is especially true for NYCFC, where Yankee Stadium always plays a factor when it comes to the style of play, tactics and atmosphere.

In the second game of the season, D.C United will be the first visitors of 2017, and the questions will be around how the team will adjust to the stadium’s dynamics. NYCFC’s home “pitch”, is still a baseball field for yet another season.

It’s narrow and tough. The ball moves slow and players rarely go on the flanks, when you have players such as Jack Harrison who are speedy, who would prefer to utilize the flanks.

D.C United is a well-respected team, one of the original MLS clubs, and always have the ability to be dangerous. It’ll be important to see how City start their home form.
