2) Robert Moewes

Position: Goalkeeper

University: Duke University

Third round: Pick 8 (Day 2)

Toronto FC got off to a great start on Day 2 of the 2017 MLS Draft, bringing in Duke University shot-stopper Robert Moewes as their third round pick. He was the eighth overall on the day as Toronto cashed in on the conditional pick they acquired courtesy a trade with Orlando City in 2015.

Moewes, whose native city is actually Dortmund, Germany, had a stint at Binghamton University for two seasons before earning a move to Duke University in 2016. He managed 17 starts and was named Duke Soccer MVP in his debut year and could be an important player for the team in the future.

With just two keepers on the roster in the form of Clint Irwin and Alex Bono, Moewes will definitely get chances to show coach Greg Vanney his potential this season.
