1) Brandon Aubrey

Position: Defender

University: University of Notre Dame

First round: Pick 21 (Day 1)

Brandon Aubrey was Toronto FC’s first round draft pick and the 21st overall pick of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. The 21-year-old defender has made significant strides in his soccer career since joining the University of Notre Dame, where he played as a forward before switching to a defensive position halfway through his freshman year.

An adept passer of the ball with great height and even greater aerial ability, Aubrey has scored 15 goals and notched up four assists for the Fighting Irish in his four years at the club. The Plano native was also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll this year, which only bodes well for him as he continues his progress as a central defender at the BMO Stadium.

His arrival adds depth to the Toronto FC roster, although it is unsure whether he will get much first-team action this season.

Grade: A+
